Dr. Rubisch graduated from The University of Utah, Cum Laude in 1977 with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology.
He then graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas in 1981 with a DDS degree.
Following Dental school, Dr. Rubisch took the Western Regional Board examination, and after passing that, received dental licenses in Utah, Colorado and Arizona. Dr. Rubisch then took the California Board exam and got a license in California. Dr. Rubisch then traveled to Hawaii and Texas, and took the Board Examinations in both of those states, which he passed and received licenses for Hawaii and Texas.
Dr. Rubisch then practiced in California for several years as an Associate, and also then worked in practices in Colorado, Hawaii and Texas before deciding to settle in Arizona.
Dr. Rubisch bought his current practice in 1984 from Dr. Ernest Glass, DDS MS and has been practicing dentistry here for over 25 years.
Dr. Rubisch has had a lifelong interest in learning new things, and partly because of that interest, he has belonged to the Academy of General Dentistry for over a decade. In 2009 Dr. Rubisch became the only Yuma dentist to receive the prestigious Fellowship award.
The Fellowship Award is presented to dentists looking to provide the highest quality of dental care by remaining current in their profession. In order to receive this award, Dr. Rubisch completed 500 hours of continuing dental education, passed a comprehensive written exam and fulfilled at least 3 years of continuing membership with the AGD. He has joined an elite group of more than 14,000 members worldwide who understand that great smiles and good oral health for their patients are a result of going above and beyond basic requirements. The Fellowship award symbolizes excellence in the dental profession and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. The AGD is the worlds second largest dental association with more than 35,000 members.
Dr. Rubisch has also received Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, an association promoting excellence in Implant therapy. He also belongs to the Yuma County Dental study Club, Southern Arizona Dental Society, American Dental Association and the Yuma Rotary Club.
Rubisch is an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoys doing that when not practicing dentistry. He has been married to his beautiful wife, Chrysti, for over 28 years and they have 5 children. The oldest, Steve is a Marine combat veteran who is currently in college. Elisa, who graduated from college last year, recently got married. The next in line, a son Joshua, also recently got married after spending two years doing missionary work in Serbia, he is in college, preparing to enter Law school. Jenna another daughter, has a serious interest in Singing and music and is currently a sophomore in college pursuing that field. The youngest, Jared is a 7th grader still living at home.
